God’s plan will outlast our lifespan. In other words, the world will keep spinning according to God’s will long after our departure. Today’s passage highlights this reality in the life and ministry of Elijah as God announces the positioning of new military and ministry leaders, and also His will to punish Israel, while protecting a small remnant of true believers.
